Jenny Lawson The Bloggess Rocked My World, Baby

I was sooooo nervous to go finally meet my favorite blogger and now author, the fabulous, funny, brilliant and gorgeous Jenny Lawson The Bloggess in L.A. last night at her book signing for her awesome new book, “Let’s Pretend this Never Happened.”

She did not disappoint! I love the book beyond, and now I know I must get the audiobook, too. As funny as she is in print, she is even funnier when telling her stories aloud.

Can you imagine if she read all of her blogs aloud? O.M.G. As if they could get even funnier.

Jenny’s struggles with anxiety are well known and she joked about being on  a lot of medication to help her through her worst fear of being on stage in front of so many people.

The Bloggess Girl to Mom

She said she was on some good shit, y’all, the drugs they give rock stars so they can perform! I’m dying to know what it is. It worked great, she was awesome and the crowd was rolling with laughter.

And I got to hug her.

Some people brought their metal chickens. This one was pretty cute…

I did wear a red dress per The Traveling Red Dress post and movement by Jenny, but I decided to wear one I bought with my Mom at Ross at the last minute, it was more casual and funky than super dressy. $11.99!

I have a surprise coming up…I bought a gorgeous red formal dress and I’m sending it to whoever wants and needs a red dress moment in their lives! (That post coming up soon with pics of the hot mama dress)…

Jenny Lawson Soleil Moon Frye

Soleil Moon Frye (Punky Brewster!) was the moderator. She also has social anxiety (as do I) and she seemed really nervous, too. She was adorable.

But sadly I had to murder Punky Brewster so Jenny and I can be BFFs forever.

I was a little worried I’d be banned from the event because earlier in the day I Internet stalked Jenny and send her a Twitter tweet that implied I was in her hotel room while she was applying body lotion.

Yes, I am really that crazy. I was joking, of course, but I thought I may have scared her. Nope, she was cool, man.

The Bloggess sister

Jenny’s sister was there, too! Here she is, we were both in the front row. She seemed nice and I feel like I sorta know her from Jenny’s book.

Jenny did her hilarious reading and then took questions from the audience.

I got up and asked one at the microphone, but it’s all a blur. My husband Nick said it was funny and we were joking around about Jenny being a pioneer blogger of the F word. She’s the Sacajawea of F*ck!

Ok, here’s where it gets really good…

Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I’d get to hold Juanita and tongue kiss her.

Yes, Juanita, yes I did.

And I held Copernicus the Homicidal Monkey. And he’s…SOFT! I NEVER DREAMED HE’D BE SOFT TO THE TOUCH! A rampaging murdering monkey with a heart of mush.

But wait. There’s more

Heidi Ferrer Boobs the Bloggess

Jenny signed my boobs! How awesome is this lady?! She is the coolest person ever.

So many dreams came true. I can die happy. Oh wait, I’m a mother…well I can just stay alive and be psyched about meeting one of my idols.

Love y’all!

I am SO GLAD you had fun and got to meet her. I’m pretty sad I don’t get to head to SF to catch her tonight, but it’s just not in the budget.

  5. I can honestly say that I have never ever been jealous of a boob-signing. Not even a little twinge. Until now.

  6. Taren says:

Don’t wash her signature off, go to a tattoo parlor and have them trace it on to your boobs permanently

  7. Candice G says:

So awesome. I am totally jealous that she signed your boobs! If you ever came to Georgia I would get you to sign MY boobs. TOTALLY!

On another note. I need a red dress moment in my life, but I just don’t think anybodies red dresses will fit me because I’m not a size -2.

Even after losing 172 lbs I am still a size 14-16. I am getting married in July and still haven’t bought a wedding dress or had engagement pictures taken yet because I feel like I am huge. :/ What to do? Take a picture in a red dress! Please? well, if it isn’t a size 2. lol

  8. Anya says:

You are such a lucky duck! Wish Jenny was coming anywhere near me. I would do anything to be able to lick Juanita.

I have to admit, I’m terribly tempted by the red dress. I’ve been suffering from a ridiculous amount of various anxiety disorders, and general sucktasticness in my life. And I’m a size 12! But I know someone else needs it more, because I’m already seeing the light at the end of my own personal tunnel. I hope you find the perfect lady for it. <3

  12. Annie says:

Great recap of the evening. Yes, your husband was right…your question to Jenny was sincere and funny. I think at one point she signed anything from a tongue to an armpit, but you might have been the only boob. Never wash! Enjoyed saying hello. You look just like your photos.

    • Heidi Ferrer says:

Annie! It was awesome to meet you! Thank you for coming over to say hi. I was going to say I met you in the post, but I was afraid I’d get your name wrong. I’m the worst with names. Someone’s tongue got signed? I’m jealous! Did you see that Stefenie Meyers was there? The Twilight mega writer. Wow!

  13. Annie says:

Stefenie Meyers was there? Damn, missed her…unless that was her sitting in the front row. Regardless, this just reminds me that I have to get out more. Writing is great, but it’s time to step away from the desk! Glad I could say hi and meet you in person.

  14. Nicky says:

That’s so awesome! I wish I could meet her.

Hey there! Do you know if they make any plugins to assist with
Search Engine Optimization? I’m trying to get my blog to rank for some targeted keywords but I’m not seeing very good success.
If you know of any please share. Cheers!
