This dessert will knock your panties off and make ya wanna put ‘em on your head! It’s that good.
While in North Carolina for my little sister’s wedding last weekend, I ate one of the most delicious things that’s ever crossed my virgin lips. Suddenly my panties were on my head and I didn’t even know how they got there. Metaphorically and innocently speaking, of course.
It was a buttery White Chocolate Pistachio Crunch, made by my baby sister’s husband’s beautiful Mama, Marcell. (His wonderful parents are pictured above.)
Now you know I don’t really cook, right? But this is so easy I think even I could manage it.
From memory, I believe she told me these are the steps:
Start with Saltine crackers! Seriously! You will never guess Saltine crackers are involved when you taste or serve this delicacy, I swear.
Take 2 sticks of real butter and melt it with 3/4 cup of sugar. I would use salted butter, I don’t even know why unsalted butter exists, you?
Lay out the crackers on a baking sheet, probably a greased/buttered one, right? Or at least use Pam spray. Pour the hot mixture over the crackers and bake until crisp and lightly golden browned.
Then take white chocolate morsels and pour a thin layer over the hot stuff. They will look like they’re not gonna melt, but they will and when they do, spread the white chocolate thinly over the cracker crunch.
Then sprinkle chopped/crushed pistachios, no shell of course, over the white chocolate.
Cool and break apart- incredible!
Thank you to lovely Marcell for this recipe- YUMMY! Sweet, creamy, salty and crunchy, what more do you need? You will thank her and want to kiss her.

We make this every year around the holidays……Granny Snacks is what we call them. You can use just about anything that you like after you add the butter and chocolate chips. The white chocolate pistachio sounds wonderful!!!!!!
I always use unsalted butter.
When a recipe does not specify, assume unsalted. The degree of saltiness in salted butter vary. A recipe that might taste great with salted butter one time may taste very different the next time. If you use unsalted butter, it’s not contributing any salt at all to the recipe so your addition of salt will be the only source of salt.
I make this… but with chocolate chips. It really is disgustingly good!
